Terms of service

These terms govern your use of scannata.com. By using the site you accept them. They also serve as the legal notice required by Article 10 of Spanish Law 34/2002 on information society services and electronic commerce (LSSI-CE).

1. Who runs this site

This site is operated by Scannata Records, Calella, Spain. Contact: contact@scannata.com.

2. Using the site

You may read, link to and share this site freely. You may not use it unlawfully, attempt to gain unauthorised access to it or to any system behind it, interfere with how it works for other people, or scrape it in a way that places an unreasonable load on it. You are responsible for the equipment and connection you use to reach it.

3. Sending us a demo

Anyone can send us music. Please read this section before you do — it is the part that matters.

You keep everything. Sending us a track transfers no rights of any kind. You keep your copyright in the composition and the recording, and nothing on this page grants us a licence to release, distribute, reproduce or exploit your music. If we want to do any of that, we will agree it with you in a separate signed contract.

By sending us a submission you confirm that it is yours to send — that you wrote or recorded it, or have permission from whoever did, including for any samples or features it contains — and that sending it to us breaks no agreement you have with anyone else.

What we do with it. We listen to it and reply. Submissions are read by people at the label and are not published, passed to third parties, or used in our own material.

What we cannot promise. We are not obliged to sign, release, or respond to any particular submission, and we do not treat submissions as confidential in the legal sense — so do not send us anything whose secrecy you depend on. Music is a field where similar ideas occur independently, and we may work with material that resembles something you sent us without that having come from you. Nothing here creates a partnership, employment or agency relationship.

We do not charge to listen. If anyone asks you for a fee in our name, it is not us.

4. Intellectual property

The design of this site, its text, its artwork and the Scannata Records name and marks belong to us or to our licensors, and may not be copied or reused without written permission, beyond ordinary quotation and linking.

Recordings and compositions remain the property of the artists who made them. The names and logos of the streaming and distribution services shown on this site are the trademarks of their respective owners and appear only to indicate where music is available; their use does not imply any endorsement, sponsorship or partnership.

5. Links to other sites

Where we link to streaming platforms, Genius, social networks or artists’ own pages, those services are run by other people under their own terms and privacy policies. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content.

6. Availability and accuracy

We try to keep the site accurate and available, but we do not guarantee either. It is provided as it is: we may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it without notice, and we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free.

7. Liability

To the fullest extent Spanish law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of opportunity, or loss of data arising from your use of this site. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited — including your rights as a consumer, which these terms do not affect.

8. Data protection

How we handle personal data is set out in our privacy policy.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by Spanish law. Disputes fall to the courts of Barcelona, except that if you are a consumer you may also bring proceedings in the courts for the place where you live, and you may use the European Commission’s online dispute resolution platform.

10. Changes

We may revise these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed, and the version published here is the one that applies.
